1. What stays on the teacher's phone
- Sheet photos. All OMR reading happens on the device itself. Photos are not uploaded to us or to any cloud AI service.
- Your device code & license. A random code identifying your phone (for your paid pass) is stored locally and in our license records.
- App lock PIN/biometric settings. Never leave the device.
2. What we store, and where
- Test results — roll number, marks, correct/wrong/blank counts, and any flags — stored in Google Firebase Firestore under your teacher or school account, so your data survives a lost phone and syncs to the school dashboard.
- Test setup — test title, class, subject, question count and your answer key.
- License records — device code, plan, issue/expiry dates, and your payment reference (UTR) so we can verify purchases and rebind your pass when you change phones.
- Trial records — device code and the name/phone you optionally enter, to keep the free trial one-per-phone.
- School registration requests — the details you type into the registration form (school name, city, contact person, phone, email).
3. What we deliberately do NOT collect
- Student names, addresses, photos, or parent contact numbers. Students are identified by roll number only — the name↔roll mapping stays in the teacher's own register.
- Your WhatsApp contacts or messages. Sharing results opens your WhatsApp with a ready message; you pick the chat yourself. We never read or send anything on your behalf.
- Location, advertising identifiers, or browsing behaviour. The app contains no ads and no third-party trackers.
4. Who processes data for us
We use Google Firebase (authentication, database and hosting) and Google Cloud, with servers located in India (asia-south1). Payments are made directly by UPI from your banking app — we receive only the reference number you submit, never your bank credentials.
5. Children's data
OMR Mitra is used by teachers in classrooms, so we designed for children's privacy from day one: no student names or personal identifiers are ever transmitted or stored by us — only anonymous roll numbers and marks. Sheet photos, which may contain handwriting, never leave the teacher's phone.
6. Data retention & deletion
- Ask us any time (WhatsApp or support@omrmitra.in) and we will delete your account data and license records.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on the phone, including sheet photos and results not synced to the cloud.
- School accounts: your school's admin can request export or deletion of the school's entire dataset.
7. Security
- Paid passes are locked to one phone using Ed25519 cryptographic signatures — copying the app to another device does not carry your license.
- All traffic to our cloud uses TLS encryption.
- School data is isolated per school at the database-rules level; one school can never read another's records.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and announce it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
